DAÏMÔN and our partners at Debaser invite you to an evening of live music with local artists. Let yourself be swept up by the talented artists Instant Places, Linsey Wellman and Wellington Sanipe.


Join us at 7:00 PM in the yard of La Filature (78 Hanson, Gatineau QC) for an evening of stellar local programming.

INSTANT PLACES |

Under the name Instant Places Laura Kavanaugh and Ian Birse have created audio performances and generative installations on location throughout Japan, Australia, Argentina/Uruguay, the United Kingdom and Europe, New York/Chicago in the USA, and from Makkovik Labrador to Victoria BC in Québec and Canada.


Among recent projects are an audio commission and live streamed performance in Vienna for Kunstradio ORF, hybrid performances with improvising dancers Company Blu in Florence and Milan, and the composition Le Regard for Ensemble SuperMusique that premiered in Montreal in November 2022.



LINSEY WELLMAN |

An active member of the Ottawa/Gatineau music scene, Linsey Wellman is known as a creative and spontaneous improvisor. In addition to being a soloist on the alto and baritone saxophones, he is a member of (Sun Ra tribute) Rakestar Arkestra, KAY-fayb and (JUNO award winner) Kobo Town. He was also part of 2019 Polaris Prize shortlisted Fet.Nat and has taken part in countless improvised music and jazz ensembles. He is co-founder and co-curator of the Improvising Musicians of Ottawa/Outaouais (IMOO) concert series.



WELLINGTON SANIPE |

Wellington Sanipe is a multidisciplinary artist based in Ottawa. He is an electronic musician and a visual artist



 

DEBASER | Since establishing in 2013, Debaser has become one of Ottawa’s leading independent and underground music presenters, best known for its experimental music curation and inclusive events. Their primary activity is programming, producing and promoting music and arts events, but they have also released compilation albums, produced multidisciplinary projects, hosted discussions, created web art, made radio and published zines. Debaser is an incorporated nonprofit organization whose mandate is to support and exhibit underrepresented creative artists.
